Prof Fernanda B Morrone holds a degree in Pharmacy, master’s, and PhD degree
in Biological Sciences (Biochemistry) from the Federal University of Rio Grande
do Sul, Brazil. Prof Morrone has a CNPq Productivity Scholarship and is full
professor at the School of Health and Life Sciences, Pontificia Universidade
Católica do RS (PUCRS), where she teaches pharmacology and clinical
pharmacy. Prof. Morrone is a member of the Brazilian Society of Therapeutic and
Experimental Pharmacology, the Brazilian Society for the Progress of Science,
and the Brazilian Purine Club. She is a member of the Management Committee
of the FIOCRUZ Health Network in the South region and of the Management
Committee of CAPES- PrInt, PUCRS. Prof. Fernanda Morrone was a Coordinator
of the Scientific Committee of the Faculty of Pharmacy, PUCRS (2010-2012),
Coordinator of the Professional Master’s Program in Pharmaceutical
Biotechnology, PUCRS (2013 to 2015), and Coordinator of the Scientific Initiation
Sector at PUCRS from 2015 to 2017. Prof. Morrone is currently Dean of Research
at the PUCRS. She is a consultant and reviewer for national and international
scientific journals, and she has acted as a consultant for several academic
institutions. Prof Morrone has experience in the field of pharmacology, with
special interest in the study of the purinergic system, ATP, adenosine, and the
purinergic receptors (P1, P2) in cancer and inflammation.
